Money: Thou Art Loosed
Published in Paperback by Harrison House, Incorporated (November, 1999)
Author: Leroy Thompson
Average review score:

Blow your mind!
Frankly, Dr. Thompson takes a lot of grief about his theological viewpoint on prosperity ... review comments on prosperity theology. However, this book (and others by Dr. Thompson) would be worth your time and money should you decide to "Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good." (1Th 5:21) You may find that this is GOOD.

Monster Road Builders
Published in Paperback by Frances Lincoln Ltd (01 November, 1989)
Authors: Angela Royston and Graham Thompson
Average review score:

A Wonderful Children's Book about Construction Equipment
This book has been in our family for years. It was first introduced to our children and since then has been passed onto our grandchildren. Our copy of "Monster Road Builders" has been used so much that we have more taped pages than not. We now have to order more copies for expanding family and to share with others who have not yet experienced this phenomial children's book.

I would highly recommend this book for any child who enjoys reading about construction equipment. The text is written at a level that children can understand and enjoy. The pictures are so wonderfuly done and they tell a story in themselves. Young children enjoy the pictures and as they grow older, they continue to enjoy the book's text to learn about what each piece of equipment does.

Children love to find the mouse on each page. It is the first thing they look for when a page is turned. Another favorite in our family is the picture where the man's shoe gets stuck in the mud. Our grandchildren laugh and laugh when they come to this page. Each page has so much detail that it can generate wonderful conversation between an adult and a child. Each page describes a different piece of equipment that is needed to build a road.

I would highly recommend this book to any child who is interested in construction, curious about road work they have seen,or who enjoys trucks and machines.

More Anguished English/an Expose of Embarrassing, Excruciating, and Egregious Errors in English
Published in Hardcover by Delacorte Press (October, 1993)
Authors: Richard Lederer and Bill Thompson
Average review score:

A hilarious look at the trippings of English usage.
The biggest trouble I have is trying to read this book in public. I laugh out loud and have tears in my eyes. I'm sure on lookers worry that someone should be calling the white coats out for me. The Lederer books are all a gem for anyone, but the more well read you are, the more you appreciate this digest of mis-statements and bloopers.

Mother's Taxi: Sport and the Incorporation of Women's Labor (Suny Series on Sport, Culture and Social Relations)
Published in Paperback by State Univ of New York Pr (December, 1999)
Author: Shona M. Thompson
Average review score:

Exposing women's work
Mother's Taxi focuses on how women support and facilitate sport played by others. Thompson's study, which is presented in the book, is an area of research that not many social scientists have yet explored. Her book was easy to read, with several stories told by mothers of athletes, wives of athletes, and female athletes. Men's roles are briefly discussed, but Thompson wanted her primary focus to be on women, an area of very little research. Much of the work done by women to facilitate sport is done privately. This book recognizes their efforts and attempts to make it known to the public eye.

Mothering Without a Compass: White Mother's Love, Black Son's Courage
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Minnesota Pr (Trd) (25 September, 2000)
Author: Becky Thompson
Average review score:

Humorous, Courageous and filled with Integrity
Although Becky Thompson is literally Mothering Without A Compass while raising a justice minded African American boy, she certainly is laying groundwork for others to establish a truly just and multiracial society. This book is a feast to read! From the daily politics of doing homework assignments to the more serious issues of dealing with her son's and her own experiences of abuse, trauma, racism, classism and homophobia, this book is truly a gift. I recommend this to anybody, mothers, fathers, coparents, siblings, teachers, students, activists. Enjoy!

Mountain Devil
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Leisure Books (July, 1993)
Author: David Thompson
Average review score:

EXCELLENT.
The first book i ever read from this series, and now i want them all!The story of Nate king, a mountain man, dealing with old indian legend of a vicious beast roaming the yet uncharted northwest. The writing keeps you glued to the story, as the book is so fun an fascinating to read! my only bummer point about this series, is that it reads so quick! at only 173 pages, why not? if you like wilderness adventure, indians, leading the simple life, because this book , and the whole series, i believe, brings the message across, about family values, love, friendship, and i got to go back to saying this, leading the hard, dangerous, yet SIMPLE life, makes me want to stop and smell the roses, what we all should do. This series will change your life! Read them all!
